Just about going mad trying to find some Orange jaguar spec coolant for a small top up on my XF. Doesn't seem to be available anywhere online. Just pink or red?? Also when should it be changed, found one reference that said 150K or 10years. can this be correct? Anybody had the same problem? Cheers to all Tony :

Pink / red is fine I am sure. I would say change coolant more often than that, personally I go for 5 years

Just had Coolant changed on XF 2.2D.
Why change this?

1. Will it lose Viscosity over time, and therefore have less "anti-freeze" protection.
2. will the additives not work after a number of years which act to inhibit engine corrosion.

Had gone over 10 year recommended time for replacement, but garage last year tested it and it was still good for -46C.
Never like the idea of ancient rancid water sloshing around the engine, if it leaks the smell will make you wretch, that alone is reason to change it.

I know they recommend it every 10 years, but could be sooner. Have heard stories about old Rovers freezing down by the harbour after cold Nights in February after coolant had leaked or lost its effectiveness
