New Product - XF SV8 4.2S Throttle Body Joiner

Postby Swallows Racing » Fri Nov 15, 2024 10:48 am

Hi guys, My name is Chris and I am the manager of Swallows Racing.

I thought I would let you know about a few new products we have been developing over the last 6 months and I have just had the completed versions come through.

Part of our solution for maintenance on Jaguar models is to find alternative solutions for the components that regularly fail and also those that have become discontinued, our ethos is to make a better product that will last longer and preform better than the original component ever did. This focus has lead us to develop a new range of silicone hoses for various Jaguar models and to this end we have firstly targeted the most common ones to fail due to heat cycle degradation, With our main focus on the X100 models and segwaying slightly into the 4.0/4.2 supercharged powered models such as the X350, X150, S-type and X308.

We have constant development progressing on these hoses in order to cover all VIN ranges however demand drives the order of development so if there were a particular hose the owners felt would be beneficial then let me know, Once we have covered the main 4.0 and 4.2 engine range we will move to the 2010 onwards range which will start with 5.0 ltr application engines in the new year.
Our hoses have become very popular now and are being upgraded by customers before it becomes an issue in the future and failing when you least expect it. The range at this time mostly targets the valley pipes and radiator pipes but these also move onto the throttle body and EGR assembly on these performance engines.

The first step for us was to develop a solution to one of the most common problems we see here on the 4.2 V8 in the form of the intake pipe joiner, these commonly split directly on the jubilee clamp high pressure points due to 15+years of vibrations and rubbing as well as break down of the rubber compound. The first indication of this issue would be the owner having an engine management light, this would indicate when scanned codes for bank 1 and 2 too lean due to causing intake air to escape past the metered air indicator.
Typically a smoke test would indicate the issue here under diagnostic testing, the fix for this was to have to buy the rubber joiners and a new metal pipe together as one unit from Jaguar however at a price tag of £495+vat and with spotty availability this has become a real issue for owners.

Your SR Solution to OEM Part Number AJ811625/ LR005192 (X1 silicone Joiner) £56.24

These intake elbow to throttle body joining hoses are prone to fail due to perishing and degradation of the rubber and repeat heat cycles.
Here at Swallows Racing we have developed a range of upgraded direct replacement silicone hoses for the Jaguar and Land Rover range.
Common place failure point hoses for the high performance engine ranges have been developed to keep you running while eliminating future issues with failing rubber hoses.

Silicone coolant hoses are a popular upgrade for many high-performance vehicles, and for good reason due to the many benefits of using silicone coolant hoses:

Heat Resistance: One of the main benefits of silicone coolant hoses is their ability to withstand high temperatures. Silicone hoses can handle temperatures ranging from -65°F to 350°F, which makes them ideal for use in high-performance engines that generate a lot of heat.

Durability: Unlike traditional rubber hoses, silicone coolant hoses are highly durable and long-lasting. They are resistant to ozone, UV rays, and other environmental factors that can cause rubber hoses to deteriorate over time. This means that silicone hoses are less likely to crack, split, or leak, which can help prevent engine damage and improve overall performance.

Increased Flow: Silicone hoses are smoother and have less resistance to coolant flow compared to traditional rubber hoses. This means that they can help improve the efficiency of the engine's cooling system by allowing coolant to flow more freely and quickly. This can help prevent overheating and improve overall engine performance.
