Owner of 3 Mercedes, I have succumbed to the purchase of a Jaguar ZF. We went out to buy a newspaper and, while passing the nearby car sales, as I'm inclined to do, I looked round the cars that I'm not going to buy - but on this occasion I was seduced by a one owner full, main dealer service history, silver XF - expensive newspaper! OH was with me and we took it for a drive, not surprisingly we liked it, so it's now on our drive.

Not only is this our first Jaguar but also our first modern diesel, a 2010 3 litre diesel. I'm aware of the potential issues with DPFs and EGRs [and no doubt more] but don't know all the ins and outs, so will be pestering those who know with a few questions. The XF is also vastly more technical than the 32 year old car which it will, in due course, be replacing; I am slowly working through the owner's handbook, but I can't rule out asking some 'simple Simon' questions on 'how it works' too!
