Windscreen wipers stopped working

2014 3.0 v6s. Windscreen wipers just stopped working this morning although washers still working. All fuses have been checked by RAC which are all ok, he says fault central control unit coming up but also says it could be the column stalk packed in. Any feedback from those with similar experience would be welcomed
