Hello. I'm Bernie and have just bought a 2005 Jaguar XJR. So far it's been a real problem car in the month since I received it. It stood outside at Swallows Racing for several days waiting it's turn to have a gearbox sensor replaced, as the car would not recognise it was in "park" and refused to start. The garage I bought it from fitted a normally aspirated Range Rover MAF sensor so I have engine light and recurring "reduced performance" message. It now has the correct Maf sensor fitted. It goes back to Swallows on Friday to have two supercharger gaskets replaced; hopefully that will resolve the problem. People have questioned why I have not demamnded my money back: The simple answer is that the car is stunning! Metallic black, 20inch Sepang alloys, black and ivory interior ( as opposed to some red/black interiors, same recipe ), titanium exhaust, K&N filter and an XJR registration.....I am going to Gaydon this Saturday ( May 18th, 2024 ) to attend the "Supercharged Saturday" meeting with The jaguar Breakfast Club, so may well meet other JEC members there, which would be nice. I may well need expert advice in the not too distant future.

Welcome! Good-looking car! I still miss my X350!

If I were you, I would do an immediate gearbox fluid change. At 130k, you really need to have evidence that it's been done in the last 10k. I had changed mine 6 times in 150k.

Also check that all those brakes pipes were changed which had failed the MoT last year. Particularly check that they were replaced and not just covered over in underseal or black wax.
