Hi All,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Nick, I've had my 2003 XJR for just over a year now. Wonderful car. I bought it just before my wedding. last year. It was our wedding car. We've also been on honeymoon in it and recently brought our newborn daughter home from the hospital in it. Attached photo is from our wedding day. It's a second car so it doesn't get everyday use, especially not in the winter. It's for weekends and holidays.

What a fantastic source of information this site is, with some very knowledgeable and helpful people around.

I bought the car as a Japanese import, (don't roll your eyes yet), I know there's a dim view of these by some. Here's 3 good reasons they're a good deal,for the skeptics out there: 1. Right Hand drive, 2. No salt used on Japanese roads (=less corrosion), 3. They were significantly more expensive in Japan when they were new so tend to have had a pampered life over there.

Nice car. Enjoy it. I`ve had mine nearly four years and have done a massive amount of tweaking.

My magazine articles started around September 2015. I systematically stripped and rebuilt the most vulnerable parts of the car in order to get it right for the next few years. If you are a member, then you can access the magazine back numbers and see what I did over a couple of years or so. In addition, you will find a mass of material on the X350 which might help you if you decide to undertake maintenance work yourself.

Yes, the XJR is running perfectly at present.....but it doesn`t get the use it once enjoyed.

I`ve been a JEC member for over fifteen years now. when the S-type and X350 were current models, maintenance information was rather sparse and there was only one way forward ie DIY, find out for yourself and learn by experience. In the process, several of us pooled our knowledge and began to write up and document the jobs on this site and publish some of it in the magazine. Gradually, we all benefited from the effort. Without being a JEC member running those cars would have been rather harder. Now the information is available for all.
