hello from my 2004 xjr

Postby keithc_1886 » Sun Jan 24, 2021 12:36 am

Hello all, firstly thanks to all the forum contributors who unknowingly helped in the purchase of my first x350.

My x308's, Daimler super 8 and xjr are current projects but I wanted something to drive other than my zafira and transit A black xjr with warm charcoal/ivory interior is now my Sunday best transport.

A couple of jobs have been undertaken in my 2 weeks of ownership. Folding mirrors cleaned with some success. CD cassette holder refurbished, jobs pending:- fobs not working (need to take door card off to identify module number and check connections). Parking sensor issues, diff oil change, valley hose change. Roof lining can wait. The gearbox oil & filter change will mean a trip to local independent Paul Roach classics so I'll do the door module and they can code it whilst it is there. Hopefully, that will give me license to just enjoy driving it until it's oil is due for replacement.

The CD multichanger with jammed cassette was repaired/refurbished by Daniel Bindley in Bishops Stortford. 2 new motors with a 3 month warranty for £60 including return postage, with a 2 day turnaround, is excellent value in my opinion. Daniel can be found on ebay daniel8511, email danielbindley@talktalk.net

More to come I'm sure

All our cars should be enjoying lockdown, even if we aren't. Stay safe everybody.

Keith
