Hi All,
I've re-joined the forum, as I was previously a jec member. I need some help and advice please. I have a Jaguar S Type regisration GD04 FHL. It's a petrol 3 litre V6. The head gasket blew a year ago and I got my mechanic to fit a replacement second hand engine of a similar mileage (89,000 miles).
The car starts perfectly fine, but will only drive for about 200 yards before going into "limp" mode. The fault reads "Data stored in Flight Recorder." Can anyone please advise me what to do to get this car repaired?

Hi Andy,
Thanks so much for your help and guidance. My friend is an electronics expert, I will get him to do the tests on the IMT valve!

Re: S Type Fault Code p1532
Hello Everyone,
Please see my previous posts. My friend has tested the IMT valves and they show the correct resistance of 20 ohms. We are asking you all for some guidance and my friend who is a skilled and qualified mechanic has asked me to type in the following and ask for your kind advice. The car has been off the road since August 2022 now!!!
"Jaguar S Type 3 litre V6 Petrol Reg No: GD 04 FHL
The car had a second hand engine of similar miles (89,000) installed and a limp mode fault has occurred!
I have tried:
1) Checking for air leaks.
2) IMT sensor functions and voltage / ohms tests are all ok.
3) Cleaned throttle housing and re-set this.
4) Checked throttle position switch.
Fault still occurs. Is it possible that the engine ECU is not re-setting to the basic settings on the new engine?"
Please can anyone help me?
Kind Regards - fitman207
