New to the club and STR ownership

Postby Martin15 » Sun Jun 21, 2015 5:27 pm

I have been an enthusiast of Jaguar models for many years. I am about six weeks into ownership of my second Jaguar. The first was a 2.4 Mk2 many years ago, now I have a 2007 model STR. I have a few questions which I will address via the relevant sections in the bulletin board.
Looking forward to participating in the club and enjoying my STR.

Hello Martin.

Welcome. A great choice of car and an appreciating model which is entering classic status.

Have a hood look around the site. We have built a maintenance reference source which is probably the most comprehensive around. Many threads are documented with images of work where it has been carried out. I`ve run S-types for ten years now and for the vast majority of that time have been doing my own service and repairs. Any questions you have will often be answered the same day.

Good to have you with us.

Hi.
Maybe I am being daft here but I have been trying to update my vehicle details but many of the pre-fill options do not apply for my STR.
For example,
My exterior colour (Slate) is not available.
My interior colour (Charcoal Sport) is not available.
Wheel options. My STR sits on 19' BBS wheels. These were included on the original spec list but may be an accessory. Perhaps someone can answer if BBS were supplied as standard or as accessory?

Any thoughts?

Martin

The vehicle register is pretty basic, very few of the pre facelift options are available to choose from too.
Not heard of BBS Alloys being a Jaguar option, neither do they appear in Jaguar Sales Brochures, top of the range Alloys as standard fit to 2007 STR were 18" Barcelonas, (£1000.00 option on lesser spec Models) Not heard of Charcoal Sport, though Warm Charcoal is standard choice on list for 2007 STR.

Register for TopiX at http://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/ - once registered enter you VIN and you will get a list of all options fitted, original suppying dealer any notices about the car etc...
Or you can e-mail Jaguar your Vin for original spec sheet, jagcrc@jaguar.com

Thanks for the info on Topix, I registered and got my vehicle spec sheet. It indeed left the factory on 19 inch rims, unfortunately it does not specify the type, but I have no reason to suspect anything other than the BBS it currently sits on.

Great, I now know more about the car than before. Excellent.
