Spongy brakes on my 1968 Jaguar 420G

Dear All,
I hope you can help as I noticed when I drove my Jaguar 420G last Monday that the brake pedal travelled almost to the floor although the brakes did work. I checked the brake fluid reservoir which was not low and in any event if it was the igniition light would come on in the cabin. Also, about a year ago at last service the brake master cylinder was replaced when a similar issue occured. It was my first drive in about 6 weeks if that is of any significance.
Looking forward to your help and advice
Best wishes,
David
