Steering Wheel Removal

Postby steyning25 » Wed Aug 07, 2013 7:52 pm

Making steady progress in stripping out the various sections of the car with good advice from the workshop manual, and taking lots of photos for future reference.

However have come to a bit of a stumbling point in removing the steering wheel. The manette has been removed after taking out the grub screws. The instructions now suggest 'rotating steering wheel knurled adjustment ring until it is free'. Is this the small 2" section immediately behind the steering wheel, and if so it really doesnt want to move. Any suggestions? :?

Hi,

I'm not sure that this will be any help but could the reference you quote be about the adjuster ring for steering reach adjustment, if your car has it? I don't know whether it does but my E-Type has and this is uninspiringly referred to in the manuals as a locknut.

As its a while since you asked the question then I hope this helps in some way.

Regards
