XK120 engine mounts

Hi,

The rear carb on my 1950 XK120 is currently trying to destroy itself on the steering column. I believe that there should be a spacer under the front engine mount on the offside ( the car is RHD) but, according to my parts book, there should be a spacer under each front mount. I intend to replace the engine mounts but am not sure whether to add spacers on both sides. Any help would be gratefully received.

Hello Derry,

possibly it is only the damaged engine mounts that are the problem, so I would fit those anyway and then see how the engine sits. With damaged mounts the engine will be all over the place due to the large torque reaction when driving.
