WANTED - JAGUAR XJ6 SERIES 2 1978 CHROME WHEEL

Dear All

I have a 1978 Jaguar XJ6 Series 2 which was in fantastic condition until a reckless driver pulled out in front of me and went into the side of my car.

I have managed to find a good body shop who have restored most of the damage. However, they have told me they are struggling to find a good replacement chrome wheel and they do not know of anyone who can refurbish the damaged wheel.

A while ago, I do recall seeing a Midlands(?) company advertising a refurbishment service for these wheels which were also used on Series 3 E-Types. However, the service wasn't cheap. An extensive internet search might well uncover the company (a quick one hasn't!). Alternatively, fitting 'Kent' alloys all round would be an alternative which would give you a similar period finish along with the additional benefit of having much lighter weight wheels which are easier to refurbish when necessary. Dear Mike. Thank you so much for your kind reply. It is very good of you to take the time to respond. Unfortunately, only an identical wheel will suffice and as such, I guess the search continues! I am so very upset over the whole ordeal as I had only just recently bought the car when the accident happened and it was in lovely condition. I have wanted one since I was a boy and I was so in love with the car and so pleased to have finally fulfilled a life long ambition! The XJ6 is such a superb drive and real head turner too! What sort of chromed wheel, and where are you? Do you have a photo? I have some chromed XJ6 wheels on my old 1981 Series III.

I am based in East London but should be able to arrange collection.

A photo of the type of wheel I am after is attached.

Hopefully someone can help! I am obviously looking for the very best example I can find.
