Auxiliary fan
Moderator:LJR
Hi guys, whilst my original auxiliary fan work, as I have everything out of the engine make complete sense to me to source and fit an upgraded fan, perhaps with one that has more then four blades.... Any suggestions from you guys?? I am keeping the viscous coupling fan just need to change the aux fan. Also I presume that this is a suction fan, drawing in cold air through the rad and in to the engine bay??

Re: Auxiliary fan
The auxiliary fan only runs when either the aircon compressor is in operation or the radiator is suffering heat soak after a run in warm weather. That doesn't work the fan especially hard in the UK. A similar mod which might have more benefit would be to replace the viscous fan with a well designed electric one with matching cowling to give more controlled cooling and improved access at the front of the engine. I recall there was a very nice looking kit available in the USA from a V12 specialist there - just a thought. Mike.

Re: Auxiliary fan
Yes Mike, I should've done that before I spent cash on a new viscous and fan assembly and refurb'd the shroud..… but I've done that now. Considering how hot its getting here and the fact that I will be taking the car to France and Italy during the summer months the auxiliary fan will be doing a lot of work...
