Hi,
I've got a clonking noise coming from the nearside front of my XJ Series 2. Not sure if it's suspension or steering related. It occurs at low speed particularly when manoeuvring on rougher surfaces and speed bumps. Generally quiet when going along at moderate speed. Any thoughts...?

Most likely suspension related either drop links or bushes, need your local friendly mechanic to get it up on a ramp to have a look.

I had a similar clonking noise from the front on my Series 3. I found the foam bushes at the top of the shock absorber had deteriorated leaving it a bit loose. An easy fix if it is that.

They now do polyurethane versions that should be longer lasting.
