Interesting update from Harry Metcalfe on his XJC project in his end of year review for 2022.
In particular a couple of thoughts on problems with injectors for the V12 and the fuel tank switchover. Worth a look (the XJC features first, so no need to watch the whole thing).

Interesting video!
Hopefully Mike Horlor will also have seen it and raised the issue to Jaguar Classic Parts on both the injectors and the cutover valves. It's disappointing that there are genuine Jaguar parts out there which are sub-standard. Hopefully they will address this as a matter of urgency.

Re: Harry’s XJC
Guess who's own V12 needed a replacement change-over valve last summer? The replacement came from SNG Barratt rather than Jaguar Classic and so far (fingers crossed), it has behaved as it should. I fitted the previous one about 25 years ago.
My injectors don't like standing around for long periods. Keeping the car exercised is the best way to ensure clean 12 cylinder running. Winter lay-offs nearly always mean starting on 9/10 cylinders. The others chime in during a good blast or with a sharp tap! Mike.

Hi Mike,
So, was your changeover valve from SNG, an OEM equivalent or an aftermarket (rather than them supplying a Jaguar Classic one)?
Have you got the original Bosch / Lucas injectors in your V12? I have the original ones in my pre-HE and would rather get them cleaned and calibrated than buy replacements.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
Having checked my notes, I seem to think the replacement valve may not have been a genuine Jaguar boxed part because it didn't carry the usual Tecalemit labels but it did look the same physically.
I still run the original green injectors although they have been ultrasonically cleaned and flow tested a couple of times. Mike.
