Has any one used this refrigerant in an R-12 system?
I was told that the Pag was compatible with R-12 Pag
EZ Chill air con gas from Halfords.

Sorry to say but i don't think its quite as simple as it seems . If your system is r12 are the hoses sheathed ? ....in other words do they have an outer and an inner lining . If they don't the gas will probaly leak out as the molecular structure of r12 is much smaller than r134a . If they are sheathed [its usually written on the hose] then it should be ok. If you need to talk let me know and i'll send my moby number .

I'd suggest you really don't want to do that. It's even illegal in the US to topup an R12 system with R134a.
Not only is there a potential issue with molecule leakage through the pipes, the original mineral oil in R12 and the PAG introduced with R134a are incompatible. Apparently they can even give rise to explosions. You'll also have the issue with compressor seals.
You really need to a proper conversion. That involves fully evacuating the system, draining the compressor, changing the seals, replacing the hoses with R134a-compliant barrier hoses, replacing the receiver drier, changing the port valves, filling the compressor with PAG or ester oil and then charging the system with R134a.
