I'm trying to remove the blower motor on the drivers side (LHD) on my XJ6 series 2 1977. I have followed the original Jaguar repair manual exactly, but the blower is stuck. I have tried to locate a possible third mounting point (the manual lists only two), but I can't find another one.
Can anyone guide me how to get the motor out?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Re: Remove xj6 series 2 blower motor
AFAIR it sticks on the top air control flap, which is why you are instructed to hold it open. It's one of those one where after a load of waggling and cursing, you suddenly discover it was easy all along! Note you do not need force, so if it won't come out, look for something in the way, a cable still attached (possibly to a tie rather than an electrical connection). From Kirby Palm's book:
In the Jaguar repair manual, one step in removing the blowers is to open the recirculation door and block it open. The
next step listed is to remove the bolts holding the blower in. Please do not infer from this sequence that the blower
retaining bolts are within the recirculation door; the door must be blocked open simply because it is linked to the
outdoor air intake, which must be closed to prevent hanging up while the fan is being removed. The blower retaining
bolts are on the outside of the housing and are obvious. Both steps are necessary but unrelated.
Duncan Smith says, “Clothes pegs are perfect for holding the lower door open.

So that was the trick. Thanks a lot.
