Fitting XKR Brembo Brakes on Front Wheels SII Coupe

Has anybody taken this step?
The old cast iron 4 pots are a good calliper but weigh half a ton and the later XKR Brembo brakes have a better surface area and weigh half and much. I am fitting 18" rims on my car which is highly non standard but will accommodate the larger caliper. I would also fit the later brake system with ABS. On the rear I am staying with inboard with a vented disc conversion
I would be interested to hear from anybody who has looked into this further

I used Halfords red caliper paint - fools the punters, and a heck of a lot cheaper
