gm 400 sump pan removal

Postby ipburrell1962 » Sat Sep 12, 2009 12:47 pm

hi!,
i am planning to fit a new filter and fresh oil in the auto box fitted to my 82 double six,the haynes manual states that the removal of the sump is simply a case of unbolting the sump draining the oil in to a suitable container etc etc,but while reading a magazine article last week it stated that the procedure was not that simple!,some advice would be most welcome!,cheers ian. :D
any advice on 70s xj12 purchase and ownership welcome good and bad!!

Have yet to do this particular job on the V12, but the Jaguar manual lists several other things to do before 'removing bolts and spring washers'.

Be interested to hear how you get on?
