Happy Christmas everyone,
hopefully you'll all be looking at the website over Christmas so I am looking for advice on what oil to use for my V12.
As she has been converted to manual she is getting rather a lot of rev's when compared to the lazy auto, and I can assure you she does get the rev's very often. So I (or more likely my man) will be giving it an oil and filter change, so I am looking at recommendations for the best oil to use.
Also oil additive, Liqui Molly etc, any thoughts on these??
Thanks for any 2 peneth..

Re: Oil for V12
The V12 was designed in the era of 20w-50 mineral oils and generally, they suit it well. As time went on, Jaguar made few significant changes to the engine but along with oil advances, the recommended oil became a 10w-40 semi or fully-synthetic. The use of modern, thin, fully-synthetic oils results in low oil pressure in an engine with tolerances as large as the V12's, especially those engines not in the first flush of youth as well as increasing the risk of oil leaks. A good quality 10w-40 or 15W-50 semi-synthetic, changed regularly serves the V12 well. If you are going to use a lot of revs, the engine will burn more oil, so consider using a thicker 15W-50 or 15w-60 grade to keep oil consumption down. The use of extra additives in any engine is contentious. Jaguar has always steered clear of them in its recommendations. Mike.

FWIW, I've been very happy with Morris's "Golden Film" 10W-40 semi-synthetic. They seem to have a new version:
