Got a problem with the passenger door firstly I noticed the rear doors were not locking with fob or dash switch then when I was messing to try to solve that the passenger door locked and now I can not open it from outside or inside.
I have tried taken off the wood metal around internal handle and fiddling with that and spraying WD 40 down the panel but as yet had no luck has anybody got any ideas I assume at some time I am going to get the door card off.

Passenger door lock stuck
Re: Passenger door lock stuck
Removing the door card is pretty easy (at least, on my 2008 version - might differ for earlier versions) - I did it myself very recently.
My manual says to disconnect the battery, so I did, but it's annoying as you have to reset the parking brake and windows.
Remove the screw hidden behind the plastic cap in the middle of the plastic bit behind the handle. Remove two screws below the armrest going into the door, and one screw and expanding plastic thingy at the middle of the door bottom. Lever the card away from the frame - the black surround is part of the door, not the card. Collect all the plastic clip bits that fall on the floor
. Disconnect the door release cable from the door handle and door card (it's like a bicycle brake cable), and unplug the harness to the card.
And there you have it - it's a door release cable. With luck, the problem will be clear. If not, I guess more dismantling is required; I've not done that.
Reassembly is the reverse of removal, but take a moment to check all the plastic clip components are in the right place; it's a bit more complex that it first seems as the clips go into sockets that can also come out of the panel behind the door card and drop on the floor or stick on the clip.

Re: Passenger door lock stuck
If you haven't already followed Paul's guide above, and you don't mind the minor faff of resetting windows, radio code and handbrake, and losing your trip memories, many electrical glitches can be overcome by disconnecting the battery -ve for half an hour or so, which allows capacitors to discharge and modules to reset.

Hi Paul
Thanks for your info only thing is how do you get access to the bottom screw on the door as the door will not open and is stuck closed

Re: Passenger door lock stuck
Ah, unscrew Catch 22
I guess you've fiddled with both levers on the manual locking and opening mechanism, and checked the kiddi-proof rear locks are'nt enabled, though that shouldn't be relevant.
I wonder if you've accidentally enabled two-stage unlocking. That unlocks only the drivers door at first, and leaves the others double-locked, which would be why nothing works. Here's the relevant page of the manual:
https://www.carmanualsonline.info/jagua ... anual/3#25
I think that would give exactly the symptoms you describe. At least you're safer against carjacking...
If that doesn't help, the following thoughts may lead somewhere you don't want to go, so beware...
If the handles move freely, unless you at some stage forced the handle against a strong resistance and it suddenly gave way, the cable is still in place and getting behind the door card is unlikely to help, nor is WD-40 - the problem will be behind the water splitter too, and probably electical, not mechanical. If it did shift under the application of unreasonable force, you've probably pulled the cable sleeve end out of its plastic retainer, so pulling the handle just moves the whole lot, rather than the cable relative to its sleeve, in which case what follows might help you get a pair of pliers on the inner cable.
The bottom screw is a torx head IIRC. I don't know the clearance, but I guess there's no chance of getting an angled torx screwdriver on it.
For the purposes of oiling/fiddling with the lock mechanism, you might be able to displace the top of the door card to get enough space to disconnect the cable, assuming the other screws are out. The plastic clips are push-pull things, rather than any twisting or sliding, so pulling the card might work. The "card" is actually a large decent plastic moulding; behind it is the water splitter - in old Jags that was a sheet of polythene held in place with tape or sealant; in this version, it's another big decent plastic moulding, carrying the sockets for the plastic clips mentioned above. I guess the card should bend enough to see the back of the handle.
There are 3 clips across the top: one towards the front, and two more towards the back.
There are 3 more evenly spaced down the rear side of the door, and one at the front just above the speaker, but you'd not need to move that.
If you can get behind the card, as aformentioned, the lock works via the same sort of cable and end fittings as a bicycle handbrake; you may be able to get a pair of pliers on it.

Sometimes its a micro switch that fails. If so, there is a work around to get the door open and then you can get the card off and get into it to renew the microswitch. There was a recent post about a similar problem where I added something I found elsewhere. It may help.

Re: Passenger door lock stuck
Hi Paul And IRS
Update on my problem I have been battling on getting the door card off as the door is locked solid it is quite hard however I have released the card as much as I can and have unscrewed some of the torn screws on the second coverI can get to but as this is limited it has not helped much as there is not enough room to gain @ccess to the latch area. So now I’ve stopped to think again.I have now seen the post from IRS and looked at link.l thinki will now try a hard reset as Brian suggested ( nothing to loose I hope).
The electrical trick sounds very interesting but need to get my head round it do we think this action was done on a x350 as I can’t find any info on location of the module for my 2003 x350 XJR and not upon electrics very much so not confident to do this just yet at the same time not happy to leave the car with a garage and not seeing what’s going on.
Adrian thanks for your imput

Hi Xjman,
Sorry to read about your problem, must be so frustrating.
I have made a PDF relating to the modules on the X350 which you might find useful.
Here's the link:

Feel free to download and keep.
Hope this helps and you get the problem sorted.
Take care and stay safe.
