possible collapsed drivers seat

hi all not been out in my xj for a few weeks so give it a spin up the motorway. starts great after the battery replacement all though I am cautious of starting it just to get it out the garage. anyway the more I drive it the more I feel as though the drivers seat isn't quite right. it has a feel of flatness to it and seems to slope towards the door ever so slightly. so is this common or has the 18stone previous owner damaged the seat. can it be repaired and will it cost a ridiculous amount of money. the seat is fully electric memory so theres bound to be a mass of electronics involved. thanks all.

Seat design was improved on the intermediate pre-face lift models.

My 04 XJR had a flattened drivers seat at 79K miles when I first bought it. It looks ok visually at 97k miles now but was obviously well bummed before I bought the car. It seems a common issue particularly on the early cars.

All plugs under the seat are different so there is no issue of confusion if you want to pull the seat out. A local trimmer may be able to re-stuff it for you at a favorable cost. Otherwise contact Eurojag to see if they have a decent seat that is unflattened. You could simply get a good seat, then take the seat leather off if it is the wrong colour and fit your own existing leather.

Check also the inflatable lumbar support air bag, pipes and compressor whilst you have the seat out. My air bag leaks badly. If you end up with spares, please let me know. I could well be interested. Ideally though, I should be doing the same job as you. Old cars. Don`t we just love them!

I have had this with both my X358s.

I managed to get new seat foams and springs from Jaguar and had a local trimmer fit them. Now that our cars come under Jaguar Classic you can search for part numbers and order direct from them online

I still actually go into the dealer though as they give a discount to club members!

JCP site says "contact us" for the early XJR RHD driers seat lower cushion foam....Presumably NLA or on back order.

However, XJK list C2C21779 as in stock. %6.46 plus the dreaded VAT. Not sure if XJK give discount. Worth asking.
