Suspension sagging on drivers side

Postby nchamberlain140 » Wed Feb 17, 2021 10:39 pm

Recently purchased a leggy (175,000mile) rare Swb 2003 super v8 and adore it! But ride has no way been as compliant as my old xk8, (jars and shimmys through the steering over bumps) also noticed drivers side front sitting lower than the passenger side. So basics done first, front tyre pressure being at 38psi certainly didn’t help! But have changed lower wishbone bush, track rod ends, drop links, upper wishbone and fitted a used, but good, air suspension unit, thought I did the correct reset procedure but it stayed very low on that side, decided to drive it carefully for a mile or two (noticed the ride is much better) and although drivers side did rise (to about 345mm) it is still lower than the passenger side, how do I get it rise more? Any ideas what the problem may be?

there is a procedure to set the ride heights at each corner correctly, however there is a but..

BUT, you will need the correct Jaguar calibration tool and the car hooked up to SDD or Autologic, last time I did it with David Marks, it was a two man job and took three attempts to get the right settings with in the given parameters

also check the ride height sensor mounting, these corrode and fall off, this one may be about to do just that, hence giving a false reading

Many thanks for your response, I will check the sensor, failing that I have a good independent specialist near me.
