Anyone got any experiences worth sharing regarding tyres for an 04 XJ6 3.0
Recenty purchased but already suffering from the "Pirelli" wheel wobble,it sits on 4 P6000,one new, two ok and one up for replacement in the next 5k miles.
Thinking of going bridgestone or continental.Price is an issue but comfort, noise handling come first, perhaps try 2 new fronts?
So ,any tyre dealers, engineers, users out there who will pass comment on this potential mix of tyres?

I moved away from Pirelli , even though I was very impressed with tham and managed to achieve 57,400 miles out of the first set. Running on 19" wheels, I found Vredestein an excellent replacement providing you run them at a lower than rated pressure. got over 45,000 miles out of that set and just changed them. Found them a little noisy when brand new, they then settled down and they again got noisy when nearing the end of their life but, in between all that, they have been great. Will produce a report in Jaguar Enthusiast magazine soon on the whole car experience over 4 years.

Re: Replacement Tyres
I use Michelin. Bit expensive, but worth every penny.
And there are 2-3 types of them as well

Re: Replacement Tyres
Tyre choice is very difficult as it takes such a long time to find out if you have made the right choice. I believe there are new EU regulations due very soon to lable new tyres with accurate ratings ( like energy consumption of washing machines are labelled)
The features covered will be Rolling resistance A to G ( improves economy with less of it)
Wet grip, again A to G
External Noise in dB, the more the noisier.
This information should be available via websites and on the tyres before you buy.
Information is supplied by the manufacturers but checked randomly by the authorities.
No handling information checked apart from wet grip..... useful in the UK! But noise generated rating would be useful if you wanted a quiet ride!
