Early 04> cars had Brembo calipers with Mintex linings and discs but boxed from Jaguar as genuine OE parts.

The X356> has the later Teves brakes and fractionally small diameter front brake discs.

EBC have been known to supply Red, Yellow or Green Stuff as aftermarket upgrades. One has to ask why you need upgrade pad material? It is quite un-necessary for road use but pad material is known to last just that bit longer. So it should...the cost when I last looked at fitting EBC material was two and a half times the cost of Mintex OE. I`ve never experienced brake fade with my XJR however hard I`ve driven the car. I found it impossible to justify the extra expense of fitting Red Stuff.

I've used EBC Greenstuff pads before and got on with them quite well. The braking feel was a bit sharper and they make less dust to make your wheels go black. But as Mike says they cost more than the OE Mintex.
