Brake lines required - 04 XJR

Postby scottus828 » Mon Aug 07, 2023 10:56 pm

Hi there
I'm trying to find brake lines for my 04 XJR front to back on both sides. They're not in stock with Jaguar. Does anyone know where to buy them?
Thanks

You can try Automec, but when I asked a while ago for my 2005 car, they didn't do kits, but will make up lines to your length.

Or make your own from something like CuNiFe or brake-grade copper pipe, a bender, and a flare tool. I'm told these flexible materials make it easier to thread the pipes over the fuel tank without having to drop the rear suspension, which the (rustable) steel pipes from Jaguar (were they available) require. My local "fix anything" garage reckoned about £500 (may have been a lot less, I forget) to replace all my rusting steel pipes with copper, and said they did a lot of that sort of work, though usually piecemeal rather than an entire system.

I wrote a relevant bit about tools and so forth when my front brakes failed from rusted pipe - see here.

Thanks for the replies!
I've found this link, but the parts aren't in stock. I need the items 1, 2 & 5 from the diagram.
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.co ... nd/jaguar/
It looks like they're available from chassis G49701, but I wonder if they'll fit mine, G28 etc as there doesn't appear to be any difference?
Can the later chassis number parts be used?
Thanks!
