Headlamp replacemment

I have a 2005 XJ8 3.5 Sport Premium,I have had enough of cloudy headlamps & have decided to replace them,is there a part number on the units to ensure that I get the correct replacements or some other way of identifying them please guys?

Assuming these have halogen bulbs, are they cloudy due to steam inside or due to surface damage outside.
I found steaming up can be cured by taking out the bulb and leaving the access panel open for a day or two in dry weather when the car is not being used. Then take great care that the panel seats properly when you put it back, it's easy to get it such that the seal doesn't work.
For the surface damage you can get kits with abrasive disks and the like (I think there's a Wheeler Dealers where Edd China uses a kit), or just use superfine emery paper and then a lot of chrome polish paste and elbow grease to eliminate it.

Halfords stock a range of kits to recover the outside surface of the headlamps, there are also a number of instructional You Tube videos online.

If replacement is the preferred option, then a visit to Jaguar Classic parts website is usually the best place to start to find the appropriate part numbers using your VIN and Model.

Thanks guys,I have tried a number of kits & had a body shop & 2 garages treat them & none have lasted long so replacement it is!
