CD 6 disc Multi Player

Can anyone recommend companies who service and repair Jaguar CD changers, please?

My CD changer stopped working recently and my garage replaced it with a used replacement. A few weeks later that one, too, appears to have failed and the dreaded message "CDC Error" is back. The six-CD cartridge won't eject.

I've lost faith in used replacements and wonder if anyone can recommend a company who will service/repair these changers.

Hi Charlie,

Common problem!

I stripped mine down and fixed it. It's normally lack of use that causes the grease used in the gears to solidify and stop the gears moving.

I did a write up of how to service the unit for the forum but it was deemed too big (lots of photos). Let me know if you want a copy. It's not difficult to do, worst bit is getting the unit out of the car!

Hi David,
It's great that you have this information and also took the time to write it up.
If it's too big for the forum can I suggest it's submitted for the magazine.
As this is a common problem (including mine) and these units are hard to come by I'm sure there will be great interest in an article explaining how to fix it.
