One of my 2008 TDVi's front fog/driving lights (the small round ones in the bumper) has a broken lens; looks like a stone smashed it. A quick search shows Jaguar want about £85 for the complete light unit; pattern parts from the usual suspects seem to be less than £20. Just wondered if anyone could share experience with replacing the unit and the quality of the parts.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Fog/driving light lens
Well, as it appears nobody has any experience of this, I'll post mine!
I got a unit from SNG Barrett that's half the price of the Jaguar-boxed one, but twice the price of the imitations.
Mine is a "facelift" 2008 version. Things differ slightly on earlier cars.
Fitting it is interesting, and easy. "Interesting" is because the workshop manual implies you need to lever the grille out of the bumper. In fact what you need is a thin screwdriver or similar. If you look carefully, there are three slots close to the light itself just inside the grille's outer rim. Insert the screwdriver and move its handle outwards to lever the plastic tangs that you can't see so the hooks at their ends disengage from the bumper orifice. Then the gille just pulls out easily.
The light unit (which is a complete mini headlamp all of its own, complete with levelling screw) is retained by three torx-head screws.
Remove them and the light falls out. The plug on the back has 4 clips; the ones to undo are the black ones left and right, not the smaller pale ones front and back.
A photo would have helped, sorry!
