Hi all,
A shout out to see if someone has any ideas what could be at fault here.
I have an audio issue, that I so far can’t find the cause.
My 06 X356 XJR has an issue with ‘no audio output from the Radio or CD’.
When I switch to CDC for the CD multichanger, then Audio works fine from any of the 6 CDC discs that are played.
But if I switch to Radio or the single slot CD, then NO SOUND.
I’ve checked out all the ‘in-series’ D2B Fibre Optic cables that are on the rear of the OEM head unit and also the boot mounted premium amplifier.
Initially, the Amplifier D2B cables were found to be disconnected from the Amp, but once repositioned correctly, the CDC multi-changer worked fine for audio, but the OEM radio & front mounted single CD still have no audio.
I’ve disconnected & reconnect the battery to reboot everything.
I’ve checked all electrical connections on the rear of the OEM head unit.
I’ve checked fuses F27 & F28 for dry joints.
I’ve checked the Amplifier Pins 3 & 9 for 12v+ve
I’ve checked Amp Pins 2 & 8 are ground.
I’ve checked Amp Pin 5 for the initial wake up 12v single is present.
Any help or direction where next to look would be great.
Thanks, Gary.

Re: No Audio from CD or Radio
Hi Gary
Your post was several months ago and from what I can see you have not had a reply. My issue is similar in that in my 2006 X350 Sovereign, the audio is all working fine with the exception that there is very little sound (pretty much non-existent but it is faintly audible) coming from the rear speakers. I have tried all the different audio settings including, of course, the balance and fader.
I am not familiar with the system and your comments ref boot mounted amplifier interested me. Have you been able to resolve your issues and which component is the amplifier (whereabouts is it?) My system has a boot mounted multi disc CD and also DVD player. Both of these work fine except for the rear audio issue.
Any advice Gary or has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
Many thanks for reading. David
