iPhone Phone not broadcasting on speakers

I have paired my iPhone 12 successfully with the car however while it all works the phone is not feeding through the car's speakers, is it something stupid I have missed.

Hello Alan,
You don't say what year you car is and there are variations in the later cars. I'm sure you have tried the Volume +/- button on the steering wheel controls, but on my 2006 car there is a separate phone volume setting on the Volume Presets touch screen (Menu button, then Volume Presets). Have you tried looking at that. I think, without checking on the car, that I had to turn this setting on mine all the way up to get acceptable phone volume.
Note: the phone sound only comes from the speaker on the driver's door.
