I've searched through previous posts on this subject without really finding an answer for what is wrong with my CD player.
It has been playing well for many years. Suddenly, on moving from one disc to another, the display said 'CDC error', and nothing would play.
I searched here previously for answers. The CD cartridge ejects and reloads fine, and the unit makes a satisfying whirring sound when doing so.
I tried this in and out several times. Even loaded new CD discs. Now the message coming up is 'no discs', and again nothing will play.
Any thoughts on repair - or is this an instance of get another unit?
CD player failure
Re: CD player failure
I had a similar problem with mine. One day it just decided there were no discs loaded and refused to play. It came back to life once after the battery was disconnected for something else. The next time it did it, I simply bought a replacement from eBay. Its been good since. It seems all Jaguars of a similar vintage have the same CD player, so easy to find another one. One things I found out is if you remove the CD played without replacing it, all the sound systems cease to function, including the phone. I'm assuming the fibre optic connection is daisy chained between each device.
