Fault code P2601

Postby iRS » Thu Jun 23, 2016 9:26 am

Does this mean anything to anyone? My limited code reader seems to suggest something to do with coolant pump. Is this the one referred to in other posts here, the one behind the bumper?
Thanks, Roger

PO2601 appears to concern the Hella auxiliary supercharger coolant pump circuit. The pump is mounted to the right of the O/S main beam headlight as you look at the front of the car. With the ignition switched on, you should be able to hear the pump running. From memory, fuse F27 in the engine compartment fuse box provides circuit protection.

The Hella pump can fail after high mileage or age precipitation. Main Dealer prices are around £173 but a more robust, higher flow Bosch unit may be obtained via ebay/AVT for around £135. It has a reputation for being rather more reliable than the Hella unit and is popular with drag racers!

Hope that helps.

Mike
Thanks, that's most helpful. I have found the AVT website and the pump.
My car has so many problems, I'm thinking of changing my name to Rob
