Re: Thermostat housing & the lack of!
Just a heads up guys! Could not find a thermostat housing for the 2003 X350 so had to purchase abroad (USA):
£245.10p for the housing (Original Jaguar price £156 ish)
£160.27 for postage
£45.58 for the Import Tax
Total : £452.95p
Apparently they do not make them anymore
,
SNG Barrett have them on back order some customers have been waiting many months.
Brit parts do not have any either.
Could not find any aftermarket parts either, they make ally aftermarket for the years above and below I think but not for this year 2003 - 2009!
Needs must when the devil drives!
There goes the money for the new headlining!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my daily rider and have had her off the road for 4 weeks now!!

Re: Thermostat housing
Too late for the OP by British Parts list https://www.britishparts.co.uk/jaguar-p ... t-aj813558 £32 plus VAT for replacement alloy thermostat housing
Re: Thermostat housing
Er, that's not the same part; it says it's for a V6 and I suspect the OP has a V8 model. (It would have helped if the OP had given a more exact model description and VIN). Looking at SNG Barratt web site the thermostat housing for later versions of the V8 are stock items, so it seems that buying an early model example can be problematic with spares. The picture of the wanted part number looks quite different to later versions, but it could be that a later part would fit with some adaptation of hoses etc.

Re: Thermostat housing
Update: Part fitted but it seems my expansion tank is leaking also.........I had this replaced 27.06.2023 by a Jaguar specialist? Cost me £61.01p which sounds cheap as the OE part cost £85 ish! Garage tells me it is aftermarket......I am disappointed as is the filler cap. Also the thermostat which they replaced does not actually fit tight!. Booked in for Monday to have new OE expansion tank .
Re: Thermostat housing
....presumably by a different "specialist" this time?!
Good luck
