Hi all,
My 2.7 X358 is becoming slow to start and I’m getting a P0670 error - which points to the glow plug system somewhere.
I think the possible components involved are:
1. Glow plugs
2. Glow plug controller
3. Glow plug fuse 100amp
4. Glow plug relay
Anything else?
I’m Trying to be methodical and test in the easiest and most likely order, but have a few questions:
i) I think I found the fuse on the RHS front mounted separately and with two fairly hefty wires attached (and it’s marked 100)
ii) which / where is the relay?
iii) where is the controller?
iv) I’m guessing I can test the glow plugs for open circuit without removing them- is access straight forward ?
As per usual all help gratefully received
Glow plug diagnosis

Re: Glow plug diagnosis
Ok, a short update.
I managed to track down the glow plug controller it’s on the RHS of the engine attached to a bracket below some sort of vacuum valve.
I managed to get a dvm on the controller and ‘think’ it’s ok.
I also used the dvm to carry out a basic resistance test on the output wires in the second (lower) connector as looking at a wiring diagram these appear to go to the glow plugs.
Sadly it seems I may have 2 dead glow plugs so I’m steeling myself to try to get at these as so far I don’t think I can see them at all - I’ve also watched a view vids on YouTube of folks working on landrover 2.7 glowplugs - which hasn’t filled me with huge confidence. I will report back if I make progress
