Difficult to Diagnose - Engine Management Fault

Hi Everyone

I should say that my cruise control module probably needs replacing as its always in error and rarely works. (Anyone know whether i can pull these from an S Type)?

Anyway, during the wet weather, i ALWAYS have my engine go into fail safe mode. So far, my mechanic hasnt been able to diagnose except he said maybe the cruise control module needs replacing?

Could this be the case?

The worst thing is it always happens on motorways! Car drops to fail safe mode causing issues so i have to pull over and wait about 30 mins, try clearing the codes myself and off i go until it kicks in again!

If its the cruise, happy to get this changed but what else should i be looking at?
