XJ 358 4.2 normally aspirated or Supercharged.

As there seems to be no section for the XJ358, this was the nearest I could get..

I am thinking of buying XJ358 model,but whether to get a normally aspirated or a supercharged...???

I bought a 2009 XJ8 Sovereign 4.2 normally aspirated in February. X358 final edition. It is a superb car. Comfortable and plenty of power when you need it. I suspect, but have no proof of this, that the supercharged versions have have had a ‘slightly harder life’. Consider a Japanese import. Normally low milage and zero corrosion underneath. Whichever you decide, you will not regret it. Last of the real Jags!

As Ian says, a 4.2 N/A is a lovely car. I did nearly 80k miles in mine and it was quick, comfortable & economical.

However, a S/C version is quite a different driving experience. The supercharger whine and power is quite addictive. Also, a S/C will always be a more desirable car IMO.

If you want a S/C one that has possibly had a more civilised life, maybe but a Jaguar Super V8, or even a Daimler S/C?

Also as mentioned, the best cars are nearly always Japanese imports.
