Alloy wheels touch up paint-colour match

Postby alleneng4824 » Mon Nov 21, 2022 3:50 pm

Hi could anyone advise how I can get the RAL No or colour for my X350 wheels please? They are 2W-93-1007-LA Dynamic. Any help would be appreciated,as I don't want to refinish the whole wheel (or wheels) Phil

Hi Phil, actually you can get very good colour matches at the local model shop. Remember those very tiny tins of paint for Airfix models? They come in a variety of silvers and are cheap to buy and store.

I don't know about them being RAL colour but Jaguar do touch-up sticks just like for body colours. Unlike body colours, which are matched to the code number on your car's information plate (colour/trim), the last time I looked there seems to be only "Wheel Silver" and "Silver Sparkle" colour sticks. I had a Wheel Silver stick from my X308 days and can say that it does NOT match the colour of my wheels ("Custom") very well, so possibly Sparkle Silver may be closer but I've not tried it. You can usually get these from Jaguar main dealers or spares people like British Parts, but the range may be limited these days. (British Parts have paint kit, Jaguar part number C2A1237G for £16.60 but it does not have a colour named)

Thanks gents for the replies. I've been given a RAL number for this silver (on a USA site) RAL 9006. I've ordered a small 30ml touch up from a supplier in UK, I'll let you know what the match is like.
