Hi all
First post!!
Looking to buy an X350, but have a question - Do all X350s have heated front windscreens or was it an optional extra (eg winter pack option)?
My X300 XJR had one and it drove me mad!! (constantly aware of the elements).
Thanks
Pete
Heated front screen
Re: Heated front screen
we would need Barry to confirm this, but I think that heated screen was an option on lower spec cars, and standard on higher spec, or possibly a delete option, both my 350's have had them, I have to say never noticed the elements, but I do know some folk finding them tiresome

Re: Heated front screen
It says in Nigel Thorley's "Jaguar-All the Cars" that the heated screen is listed as an extra on the 350.
On my 2004 brochure it is only shown as an extra on the basic 3 litre petrol and Sport at £245( in 2004) Everything from the sport Premium upwards has the feature.
I would guess most cars would have it but check when buying.
I find it very useful as it comes on automatically when the temperature is low enough. You can see the elements when driving directly into low sunshine but usually your eyes would be focussed on the road ahead ( in Robs case 2 miles ahead!!) so it does not worry me. My wife's Fiesta has the same feature but for some reason that is more noticeable when the sun shines as silver twinkling and I find it more disturbing. Maybe because you are closer to the screen?

Re: Heated front screen
Barry, I would agree with the Ford thing, I wasn't going to mention it, but my Mondeo has the same problem, with the HFS switched on, vision does become a tad distorted giving a "swimming" effect, I have never had this in my 350's, better glass, better elements, who knows??
Re: Heated front screen
Hi guys
Thanks very much for your prompt replies! I'll try and get to look through a screen on a sunny day as soon as I can - maybe the later screens have finer elements than the earlier cars
, but I did say I'd never buy another car with a heated screen after my last one.
Thanks again
Pete
