Twisting Gear Selector The Wrong Way?

I've been driving my XF for a couple of years but every now and again when doing a three point turn or similar, I twist the gear selector the wrong way into Park instead of Drive. Has anyone else done this or is it just me? I've never had this problem with the more conventional forward-backward type selector.
Current cars: 2014 XF 2.2 200 Sportbrake and 2001 XKR 4.0 Convertible
Past Jaguars: XJS 5.3 Coupe (pre-HE) and Mk2 3.8

Three years in to XF ownership and I haven’t made this mis-selection as far as I can recall......not for me to say but could it be pilot error? :D

Yes, I'm sure you're right, it's pilot error!

I know some people mix up left and right, perhaps I mix up clockwise and counter-clockwise?
