I've come to the conclusion the "A Full Jaguar Service History" when buying a pre-owned car is not worth the paper it's written on.
My car serviced by the main dealer network throughout its life and recently in March of this year under the "Over 3 year old plan" is testament to the oversites and inaccuracies throughout it's history of servicing by different main dealers. Not only do they get vehicle details wrong, they can't even get the year of manufacture right, they miss things that a person with reasonable observance and with no knowledge of cars would see.
My car today passed it's MOT (local Village Garage),however it has 4 advisories on each of the 4 tyres, all of which have very obvious excess wear on the inner tread. Clearly visible to even to an idiot with the advantage of a vehicle lift, the tracking is out. Previously and shortly after the purchase of the car I had brake pads disintegrating, obviously missed during a so called service by a main dealer a month before I bought the car.
It is clear to me I am getting only an Oil Change(and how can I be sure of that) for my money from the service plan I've signed up for. The inspections carried out are without doubt a waste of space.

Just a quick comment in support of your conclusion, Dave. It's common throughout the main dealer chain irrespective of manufacturer.

I was (emphasise was) a VW supporter before coming back to Jags, Passat B3 from my father bought new, a B5.5 from local main dealer (the clutch got progressively harder to depress and main dealer said: "that's normal, sir!" ) so P/x that thru VW's preferred customer network for a 2.0L tFSI B6. Because of the "preferrential" buy-back you get with VW main dealers you have to use their network for servicing (now Trading Standards have made that illegal). So I used them for the second, and third year main service to keep the extended warranty valid.
All the third year service that they'd done was an oil change: no plugs' change, no air filter, no pollen filter, no nothing. And when I came to do the oil change the next year, found that even the oil filter (coz factory puts a mark across filter and block) had not been changed at all from factory Worse, a coils' factory recall had not been done either

Never went to a main dealer again apart from another (boot lid rust) factory recall. Went miles out of my way to a dealership I'd never been to before to show interest with sales department in buying a new Scirocco! Strange how they then couldn't be more helpful Even got a loaner!

Only ever use an indy now. And avoid parts if I can
