Starter Button.

Good afternoon,

I am posting this on behalf of a friend with a 2008 2.7L model.

One of her dogs traveling in the front of the car with her stood on the start button on the centre console whilst the vehicle was in motion causing it to switch off. Why is this even possible from a safety point of view, granted that most people wouldn't allow their dogs to be in such a position, but recognising that it could accidentally be done by the driver or a passenger? Could this be potentially damaging to the automatic transmission?
