Which XF to buy

Postby only1pearson458 » Sun Mar 24, 2024 7:12 pm

Thinking of changing my xtype for an XF, needs to be euro 6 compliant, which engine should I go for?
Possibly up to 2018 model.
Thanks I appreciate any advice.

The sportbrake is very good, in any form. I bought my 2019 sportbrake at a year old with less than 5000 miles for £26k, which is a massive drop from new list price. Now up to 44000 miles and 5 years old, and the ingenium engine hasn’t broken, which is a result! Seriously, they are all good cars, unless you do lots of long journeys probably go for petrol rather than diesel, though less used ones to choose from. The 2 litre turbo charged engine is a gem, loads of torque and adequate power for me.

I would recommend having a chat with the guys at Swallows. They specialise in the more modern Jaguars and know the XF inside out. An email over with your requirements will allow them to recommend the best for your budget and useage.

I know from experience they really helped guide me buying the right XF.

The XF is streets ahead of the X-Type in terms of car (I'm not knocking X-Types, they were great cars of their time, especially the estate), the Sportbrake though is a very good all rounder which ever engine you go for.

Contact Tom direct on his email tom.robinson@jec.org.uk
They are extremely busy at the moment though, so there will be a delay in him replying.

Cheers
