Workshop manual

Postby rolyh » Fri Aug 14, 2020 5:29 pm

When I purchased my 2012 XF on March I felt sure that there would be a Haynes manual to help access any repairs that maybe required, unfortunately I was wrong.
I have noticed there are some online manuals, but is there any supplier of hard copies of workshop manuals?

Hello,
I believe Haynes manuals for Jaguar finished with the X-type. Jaguar themselves supplied partial model information on CD such as for the X308 XJ. All service information for dealers, along with parts lists, was supplied in electronic form from about 2000, including the 'new' X350 from 2003 onwards. Most of this data has subsequently "leaked out" onto the internet, so you can find suppliers on eBay offering the XF manual on CD for a few pounds, or other sites offering downloads which are free in many cases. I paid ten pounds for downloads of the workshop manual, electrical wiring diagrams, all service bulletins, and lots of other data for my X350 - absolutely essential for these complex cars.

Jaguar used to provide their own service called TechNix (if I remember the spelling correctly) where if you registered you could download documentation like owner's handbook, satnav guide, Jaguar voice guide, etc, for free. You could also have time-limited access to print workshop manual pages, but only a few pages at a time, not the whole manual. I have not used this for a while and it was buried away on their main site, but unfortunately cannot today find a path to it through the Jaguar corporate website, so they make have withdrawn it.
Regards,
Brian

Hi Brian,
Thank you very much for the information, I shall have a search around on the internet for a a disk or download. Most manuals are in these formats now; which is OK; as you can just print off the section that you require for a specific job.
