XF - one off or similar problems

So my XF (2.7D) is now out of officail warranty although I have got an extension until next Feb.

I've had some problems which I wanted to check with others to see if they or unique or common
First - Gear control stuck. It was replaced but still can cause some problems by not engaging correctly
Second - Rear brake light went. They wanted nearly £100 (yes that's right) to replace the whole unit but I convinced them it should be under warranty
Third - The centre display sometimes doesn't start. Switching off then on seems to correct it
Fourth - the bluetooth phone module needed the firmware replacing to improve the mic sound (which was terrible)

Don't take this post the wrong way - I love my XF but I do like to be informed as to what other owners are experiencing

I am new to XF ownership, so can't speak with any authority, but had similar repeated glitches with my S Type diesel, I gather that a software update will often cure these intermittent problems, might be worth asking the dealer whilst still under warranty.
