Help Required - E-Type Racing History

I'm trying to establish further history on my light blue Series 2 E-Type FHC - REG YLU 470H

I've spoken with Terry (with thanks) but i wondered if any other Members remember the car or have any further information / photos?

The car was raced with JEC? and HSCC from 1988 through to about 2004 and driven by Roger Seymour and Andrew Tart. It had some 46 race starts, but i only have details below:

July 91 - Donnington - E Type Challenge - 1st in Class
July 91 - Donnington - 100 Mile Endurance - 5th Overall
July 91 - Pembrey - E Type Challenge - 1st in Class
July 91 - Pembrey - 100 mile Endurance - 2nd in Class
May 92 - Donnington - E Type Challenge - 2nd Overall / 1st in Class
July 92 - Pembrey - E Type Challenge - 2nd Overall / 1st in Class
September 92 - Cadwell Park - E Type Challenge - 1st Overall
May 93 - Pembrey - E Type Challenge - 1st in Class
Sept 93 - Mallory - E Type Challenge - 1st in Class

Sept 96 - Manx Classic Hill Climb - 1st and 2nd in Class (2 driver Entry)

June 2001 - Donnington -Lynx 40th E Type Anniversary Race - 6th Overall / 1st in Class
Aug 2003 - Donnington - E Type Challenge - ist in Class

Just had a fascinating conversation with the original owner who raced the car.

In the late 80's the car was campaigned in the HSCC Historic Road Sports Championship after an engine build by a gentleman called Alan George.

Apparently Alan was responsible for the D-Type Competition engines at Jaguar and this was only made possible as the original owner was friends with a gentleman called David Duffy (who owned a genuine D-Type) and introduced Alan to him and subsequently Alan agreed to build the engine on YLU 470H

Andrew Tart was the main Co-Driver and this tie up was to last many years during Andrew's time at Vicarage Engineering and latterly, CMC.
During this time, YLU 470H was the recipient of many prototype performance parts - hence the IRS mods, brake mods etc

In the late 80's / early 90's the HSCC were not happy with the brake cooling modifications and the car was then subsequently campaigned with the Jaguar Car Club rather than the HSCC

The car did have an argument with the armco at Cadwell Park in circa 1990 which had left her slightly "bruised" rather than battered but subsequently the body was rebuilt by CMC with extra strengthening

The highlight of her career was the Lynx sponsored 40th Anniversary commemorative race at Donnington. This race saw a gentleman called Richard Baxter co-drive as Andrew Tart was on holiday. The car beat David Pipers E-Type by 2000th of a second to achieve a class win.

One of the last races contested was at Spa in 2003 as although the car wasn't FIA certified it was invited to race at this event. Unfortunately the car had a DNF due to clutch failure.
