Hello - new 3.5 owner

Hello Folks
I am feeling rather pleased with myself having this week found a 1946 matching numbers 3.5ltr UK car - it needs a lot of love and will be my new Jaguar Project but I suspect this will turn into being a 'keeper'.

The car was taken off the road in 1975 to repair damage to the nearside wing but it sat in storage for many years. The owner returned to the car and having removed the damaged wing, discovered that there was a lot of corrosion in the sill area and rear inner wheel arches. So he started stripping the car down for repairs. He made quite a lot of repair panels but didnt fit them, however he did repair the damage to the wing and beautifully repaired the two rear wings but sadly the car was again left to collect dust.

Jumping forward to last weekend - thats how I discovered the car - mostly stripped, all the removed parts (like the wood & chrome) were safely stored and I was able to look at the condition of them - but everything was under a rather thick layer of dust. A price was agreed and the car now awaits transport to my workshop. I am aware of one big challenge - sadly the passenger seat and rear seat are very badly corroded (the rear seat spring frame barely exists and the leather is long gone) so I suspect the seating will be a problem in the future.

I really look forward to this restoration and hopefully it will take less time than my Etype did (10 years). I am now cruising the Interweb thingy looking for reference photos but I do have an original Service Manual which is jolly useful.

Oh and I discovered a new Facebook Group for Mk4 enthusiasts which may be useful to people here too. I think it has only been alive for a short time

WOW what a find,post some photo's if you can.
I really hope you keep us updated on the progress of the restoration.
It will make a very good article in the future.
And yes you should be feeling very pleased with yourself.
