Hi Richard,
Is this a part of todays Quiz ?
I know my way around the early XJ but that part does not ring a bell with me.
As you will have discovered many parts on those models look as though they have been procured from the local ship ward.
The Parts book will contain the number but I don't have a numerical list. I would suggest you phone SNG Barret or Manners I'm sure they will unravel the mystery in a moment.
Do let us know what it is from

Hi Richard,
I found a page in the XJ12 S1 Parts manual headed PETROL/BRAKE PIPE CLIPS AND FIXINGS.
That show a variety of screws, clips ,rivets and this one spacer c38887 but not exactly where it goes
Do I get half a prize for that?

Try doing a part number search on the Jaguar Classic Parts site -will give you a list of applications for that part number across all models and then you can look at pictures.
Hope that helps

All revealed here, part numbered 3. Although it relates to Series III so it could have been used elsewhere on yours:

That's useful. I found one lying on the drive yesterday and didn't even know which car it came off!

After all that I'm converting mine to a roof mounted aerial so I wont even need it !
However in the parts book its listed under brake & fuel pipes so I thinks there is more than one use for it
Thanks
Richard
