This label contains confirmation of compliance with the then current European approval standards for aspects of the car. E11 means the standard(s) was approved by the UK. E2 may mean that certain approvals were obtained from the French authority (maybe items like glass perhaps?). Mike.

Google tells me that E11 12R-0028 means a collapsing steering column, or thereabouts. I presume the rest are as exciting.
It's apparently a UN standard. Not sure why they need to get involved in car design. The standard has "Please recycle" printed on it, as if recycling a paper standard makes up for millions of pretty unnecessary plastic stickers.
